Healthy Ageing Begins Early: What Do We Know About the Prenatal Period?

Current evidence suggests that health and ageing trajectories are influenced by factors beginning before birth and continuing throughout life. This does not mean that ageing can be prevented entirely or that pregnancy interventions stop the ageing process. Rather, it highlights the potential to reduce some future health risks through maternal and fetal care and health promotion across the life course.
